Entrepreneurship
I have spent 70% of my career span as an entrepreneur. It has been very challenging. Particularly so, since I chose to work in a field which has been very futuristic - renewable energy. No regrets whatsoever. The future of the planet depends upon it and I will be happy if I have been able to move the needle a bit. More needs to be done and only entrepreneurs can provide the leadership that is needed in this area.
Entrepreneurship should be looked upon a nation building trait. But, the definition should cross the realms of business and engage with other areas that bring about transformation. The essential ingredients of entrepreneurship are - innovation, risk taking, sustainable development agenda. Any enterprise or effort which is established for short term gains is bound to end up sooner than later.
The story of entrepreneurial journey is available in a book co-authored by me with my wife, Parimal, called As Is what Is.
